Undergraduate and graduate instruction lie at the heart of our department. Whether in a large lecture hall, a teaching laboratory, the field or online - our faculty strive to impart their knowledge to a new generation of informed citizens and life science professionals. Subject matters covered by our courses are as diverse and integrative as our faculty and includes introductory level general education courses as well as highly specialized ones for advanced undergraduates and graduate students. We offer two undergraduate majors, biology and zoology, each of which includes multiple academic tracks to allow students flexibility in designing their particular course of study while maintaining the rigorous academic standards that fuels our national reputation for producing top-notch graduates. We also offer two undergraduate minors in biology and marine biology.
