Researchers working in mud.

Research in the Department of Integrative Biology at Oregon State University addresses a wide range of questions across all sub-fields and intersections of biology. We explore the living world at every scale from microscopic molecular foundations of living systems to global-scale geological and evolutionary patterns across large time scales. These expansive research projects have taken us to sites around the Pacific Northwest, the United States and far-flung corners of the world.

Research areas in Integrative Biology

Our biologists pursue fundamental knowledge and critical solutions related to the environment, ecosystems, human and animal health. We have wide-ranging expertise in genetics, genomics, physiology, ecology, systematics and evolutionary biology.
