Alexei Lubchenco Menge Fellowship

The Alexei Lubchenco Menge Fellowship is a special funding opportunity for OSU biology and zoology majors engaging in summer field research in ecology under the guidance of an Integrative Biology faculty member. This fellowship was founded in memory of Alexei Lubchenco Menge thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor and Alexei’s friends and family. The goal of the fellowship is to facilitate a transformative learning experience for an emerging scientist and advance OSU research.

Alex Riazance Scholarship

To high-achieving, full-time undergraduate students in zoology with an interest in terrestrial vertebrates or marine species. This scholarship was established by Valentina Gontscharow in memory of her late husband, Alex Riazance (’67).

Bill & Martha Lovejoy Zoology Scholarship

Established by Bill Lovejoy (’68 PhD) to support students in Integrative Biology with demonstrated financial need.

John and Diane Howieson Scholarship Fund

To full-time students majoring in zoology who show promise as a scholar, scientist or teacher in the field of zoology. Established by Diane and John Howieson (’06 MS).

John and Gretchen Morris Scholarship in Cell Biology

To a junior or senior in the College of Science with a demonstrated interest in cells, their function and their role in the development and life of organisms. Students demonstrating financial need will be considered. Preference is given first to students in Integrative Biology. Established by John and Gretchen Morris.

Zoology Undergraduate Scholarship Fund

This fund provides support for excellence in undergraduate science.

Graduate scholarship funds

Paul and Mary Ann Roberts Fellowship

This fund is used to provide a Fellowship for a graduate student pursuing a masters or doctoral degree in Zoology, with preference given to those students studying evolutionary biology.

Zoology Graduate Student Research Fund

This fund provides support for graduate student excellence in research endeavors.

Hugo Krueger Zoology Fund

This fund was established by Dr. Hugo Krueger and now honors his service to this department and many others on campus. Dr. Krueger served as a professor at the Agricultural Experimental Station with Zoology and Fisheries & Wildlife. Prior to that time, he was a professor in Physiology & Pharmacology. He maintained an emeritus appointment with the Zoology Department after his retirement until 1997. These funds are primarily used to support graduate student research.
