Do you have questions about OSU’s College of Science or the biology degree? Follow along in our "Ask Me Anything" information session that took place on Tuesday, May 5 for admitted or prospective College of Science students.
The event allowed students to connect with a current College of Science student, faculty member and advisor for a relaxed Q&A session to answer specific questions and provide information about the College of Science student experience.
The AMA panel included:
- Virginia Weis, Head of the Department of Integrative Biology and OSU Distinguished Professor. Virginia is considered the world leader in coral symbiosis cell biology. The Weis Lab’s reputation attracts students from across the country who want to study the molecular and cellular aspects of marine biology, and her students have gone on to achieve tremendous success as physicians, scientists, academics and government scientists.
- Brock McLeod, lead academic advisor for the department of integrative biology. For nearly 20 years, Brock has worked with biology students to ensure they have the tools, knowledge and support they need to reach their academic goals.
- Allie Zinn is a senior biology major and honors college student from Poulsbo, Washington. In addition to her love for biological sciences, coursework in public health has inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. Allie has made the most of her college experience by joining clubs, conducting research, traveling abroad, participating in Greek life, and working as a Science Peer Advisor. After graduating this term, she plans to work as a medical scribe while applying to medical school.
