- Display ability to summarize major central issues and current research problems in their field.
- Display ability to explain and identify areas of uncertainty in their fields.
- Complete and defend either:
(1) An original manuscript, based on either a review and synthesis of the primary literature or original research; or
(2) Mastery of appropriate advanced coursework in the field.
